CareForTom Launches First Comprehensive, Unbiased Elder Care Resource Platform
Shelburne, Vt.(December 16, 2024)—CareForTom today announced the launch of CareForTom.org, the first comprehensive online resource dedicated to providing families with unbiased, expert-verified elder care information. According to a 2023 Family Caregiver Alliance study, 76% of family caregivers report needing more information about care options for their aging loved ones. CareForTom is a national initiative that addresses a critical gap in accessible resources for families navigating care decisions for aging loved ones.
According to a 2023 National Alliance for Caregiving survey, 74% of family caregivers spend 5-10 hours per week searching across multiple websites for information about their loved one's care needs. CareForTom.org aims to solve this challenge by providing a single, trusted source of comprehensive downloadable guides and resources.
"Despite having resources and workplace flexibility that many families lack, I still struggled to find reliable information when caring for my aging parents," said Nicole Junas Ravlin, founder and board chair of CareForTom. "This experience highlighted how challenging this journey must be for families facing additional barriers of time, money, or medical access."
Unlike existing resources that may be influenced by advertising or profit motives, CareForTom.org is committed to remaining completely free and unbiased. All content is meticulously researched and verified by subject matter experts, including healthcare professionals, elder law attorneys, and experienced care providers.
